Sustainability tips

Cares with the use of water

In the company´s Effluent Treatment Station the water is captured, treated and used in the productive process as well as for human consumption. The water is delivered back to the river even purer than when it was first collected. A process that does not require the use water for the production of comforter´s has also been developed. Everything to preserve the planet´s resources.

Partners in preservation

The machines are very energetically efficient and got through preventive maintenance with the objective of saving energy.

Generators specifically built to reduce the energy consumption during the peak hours (from 18h to 20h).

The buildings were raised in such a way to enable the maximum of natural light and ventilation, with the help of polyester blankets and Styrofoam to isolate the heat and guarantee a pleasant thermal sensation and well being. The cold lamps bulbs also reduce the consumption and the emission of CO2. .

Attention to residue

Plastic, paper and cardboard residues are resold for recycling, while pieces of fabric are sent to companies and social character institutions, generating income and inclusion for those who need.

Packing.

All of the packings for Altenburg´s products are recyclable: insert papers, plastic and PVC materials that involve the products as well as cardboard cartons for transportation.

The pillows and comforters are also vacuum packed when in larger quantities, therefore using less packs due to the grouping of the content.

Products that do well to the planet.

Recycled PET fibers from bottles are used for the production of Ecofriendly pillow fillings..

Each pillow takes 15 plastic bottles from the environment maintaining rivers, seas and forests clean. Moreover, the shell fabric used in the pillow doesn´t go through bleaching or printing processes. The PET bottles are also used on the production of the Eco collection knit fabric, which integrates bedding sets, bedspreads and comforters.
